Visual Evidence

What to photograph

Take clear photos of the bug from above, the underside if possible, and where it was found. Add a size reference such as a coin or fingertip when safe.

Photograph stains, shed skins, mattress seams, bed frames, couches, recliners, luggage, and any repeated evidence area.

Bites

Why bite patterns can mislead people

Bed bug bites affect people differently and may appear late. Some people do not show obvious marks at all.
