Airports are HOTSPOTS for BedBugs!
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport removed three padded benches at Terminal 4 because of a bedbug infestation, officials there said Wednesday.
The benches were in the pre-security area on Level 3 near America’s Taco Shop and Yogurtology. Sky Harbor officials say the infestation was contained to this area of the airport’s busiest terminal.
Exterminators first treated that spot several weeks ago after someone complained about bedbugs, airport spokeswoman Julie Rodriguez said. Last Friday, employees realized the pests were not completely gone, and so they covered the seating and blocked off the area.
Rodriguez said the padded benches were removed overnight and a professional pest control company will follow up to ensure all bedbugs have been exterminated.
Sky Harbor also had bedbugs several years ago in a separate, padded seating area, officials said. The seating was immediately removed once the bedbugs were discovered.

Bed bugs are hitchhikers and an Airport is a great environment for a bed bug to thrive. Make sure you inspect where you sit, inspect your airplane seat & luggage after travel.
